Why Volunteer?

The mission of Zia Youth Soccer League is to instruct children in the game of soccer and promote player development, while emphasizing integrity, respect, responsibility, leadership, sportsmanship, and fun. We want children and families to have a great time out on the field with us, while growing to love the sport of soccer and creating strong relationships with peers and parents in a positive and welcoming environment.

We rely on parent volunteers to help execute this mission and ensure the continued success of the Zia Youth Soccer League family-friendly soccer organization. Our experience has clearly shown that a fun, non-competitive soccer environment combined with parent and family involvement is a successful building block for children during their elementary, middle, and high school years.

Therefore, we offer three different team-based volunteer opportunities for parents and other supportive friends and family members:

Head Coach
Assistant Coach
Team Parent
*Several new additional volunteer opportunities will be available once New Mexico's current Public Health Order is amended to again allow soccer activities, and Zia is able to offer its covid-safe soccer program as planned.  Details will be posted when available.
